ARCH1101 Self-introduction

Best Piece of Creative Work

Y10 Design & Technology Final Project

This was my final project for my IGCSE Resistant Materials course in Year 10. It has been the largest project I have worked on so far. As seen from the image above, it resembles the letter H, the first letter in my name. There is a lot of shelf space on either side of the stool, and it has managed to withstand my weight.

A Great Piece of Architecture

The Interlace

The Interlace is a condominium in Singapore, built by the architecture firm OMA (Office of Metropolitan Architecture) and Ole Scheeren in 2013. I chose this piece of architecture because I saw the building multiple times, while I lived in Singapore. The interesting aspect about this apartment, is the way they are stacked on each other at an angle, to create incomplete hexagonal shapes when seen from a top view. Each apartment block stacked shows a randomness from a closer look, but an organised look when you look at it afar.

Original Photograph of Something Beautiful

Mt. Fuji at Sunset

The photo above was taken at sunset from an airplane. Mount Fuji (3776m) is the tallest mountain in Japan, and is located near Tokyo. Seeing Mount Fuji alongside the red colour reminds me of the historically famous Ukiyo-e (woodblock print) "Fine Wind, Clear Morning", by Japanese artist Hokusai.
